DR. ALFRED MARC CALO ILORETA

Alfred Marc Iloreta is an Assistant Professor of Otolaryngology and member of the Division of Endoscopic Skull Base Surgery at Mount Sinai School of Medicine. He received his medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine, completed his internship and residency at Mount Sinai Medical Center and a fellowship in Skull Base Surgery and Rhinology at Thomas Jefferson University.

In addition to general head and neck surgery, Dr. Iloreta’s specific clinical interests include treatment of paranasal sinus and skull base tumors, orbital tumors, the repair of cerebrospinal fluid leaks (CSF), functional rhinoplasty, balloon sinuplasty, and inflammatory rhinosinusitis. His current research is focused on health outcomes following skull base surgery, sinus surgery and rhinoplasty.

Research focuses the implementation of emerging healthcare technology within clinical workflow and he has been collaborating with groups to establish evidence based technology. He is the Primary Investigator of multiple clinical trials involving virtual reality as well as emerging healthcare technology.

Dr. Iloreta has over 60 manuscripts published in peer reviewed journals and textbooks in rhinology, facial plastic surgery, neurosurgery and otolaryngology. He has been invited to teach at skull base courses around the country. He is member and has presented at meetings of the American Rhinologic Society, American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, North American Skull Base Society, and the American Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery.
